Expanding the Possible – Energy Resilience, Electro-Technology Frontiers and Manufacturing Scale

China stands as both the world’s largest energy consumer and investor, established in today’s global value chain as a clean energy superpower, and a future-ready electro-state.

Under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), its national energy targets and objectives have been reset. By advancing nuclear power, renewables, hydrogen and electrification, alongside robust hydrocarbon supply chains, China will expand on its vision of ‘building a strong energy nation’, while redefining global energy markets in the process.  This long-term model of balancing security and transition with speed and scale, while building strategic trade networks and synergies, continues to demonstrate its durability.

Within a fragmented international energy landscape, dominated by geopolitical turbulence and fossil fuel supply shock, delivering energy systems and partnerships designed for resilience and growth has never been more essential.

The Beijing Energy Congress, taking place from 13–15 January 2027, will convene leading energy voices from China and across the globe at the heart of the world’s largest energy market, to help shape a new era of expansion, stability and cooperation.
